Since 1985, I have been training jiu-jitsu in some shape or form. I started in Karate (ZenKiDo), Taekwondo, judo, Ohio Valley/S.A.W. jiu-jitsu, Shin shin jujitsu, aikido, BJJ, Muay Thai, and some weapon training. I have enjoyed it all and have developed myself into a well respected martial artist that can talk the talk and walk the walk. My sport side of jiu-jitsu may not be great (world class) but I can hold my own.
I have been taking the interest to teach and learn the street side (self-defense) of jiu-jitsu. Street jiu-jitsu is the side of the art that most BJJ schools tend to neglect. But I find that side of jiu-jitsu to be the most useful because it teaches the individual how to survive.
Hybrid Jiu Jitsu is a Martial Arts dojo in the Monroe area that teaches Jiu Jitsu as a true method of self defense. We combine the elements of Shin Shin Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Judo, Karate and Muay Thai.
